No yelling: Day 4 – now

So I obviously didn’t do a very good job of blogging the week that I wasn’t going to yell. I also didn’t do a very good job of not yelling. I have yelled every day from the first post until now. I don’t know how to not yell. I get to point where talking doesn’t work. I’m tired of being given respect by my kids. I can and will only take so much before I have hit my limit.

I have, however, stopped myself in some moments and just began to talk in a normal voice. That doesn’t happen very often but I’m glad when it does. It helps me calm down and I’m sure they enjoy it more when I’m just talking vs yelling. I wish I could do that every time. I wish I wasnt a yeller. Again, I don’t know how to not yell. Maybe one day I wont, I hope sooner than later.

I know the area in which I need to work on. It’s the ‘in the moment’ moments that I’m terrible at. I can tell myself all day long what I need to do but when I am in the middle of those moments, it all goes out the window. I always fall back into the same cycle that I don’t want to be in…..the crazy cycle!

I will break this cycle and beat it. I don’t when or what will be the magic ingredient but I will!

Week 24, Baby #6

image
03/27/14

I’m feeling really good! Mostly have that full/bloated feeling by the end of the day.
No morning sickness. Am still fitting into my prep pregnancy clothes (this is definitely a first!) No food aversions. More kicks and movement. The activity from the baby seems to be staying in my lower abdomen area. No rib kicks yet 😉
I’ve been maintaining my pregnancy weight. The last time I remember weighting myself I was 220 something. I was a bit nervous to see what the scale said today. Much to my surprise I am only 229! I’ll definitely take that number!

Since my weeks roll over on Thursdays, that’s when I’ll do my next update. See ya then 🙂

Some good news

If you haven’t read my ‘c word’ post, you might wanna take a look. But if you don’t want to, you wot be out o the loop on anything.

I wanted to share an update on my best friend that I mentioned in this post. I am so happy and thankful to report that all her tests came back negative!!!! Praise God! She has to go back in 6 months for a check up.

I am so happy for her! I was so nervous and scared for her when I knew she was going to the Dr o find out. I knew she was by herself and that’s the part that I didn’t like the most. No matter what the outcome was of these tests, I so didn’t like knowing so was alone.

I love you lady! Prayers are still going for you that there is nothing in 6 months.

3/4 of the way

I cannot believe that my baby girl is 9 months old already! Where is the time going?!?!

She is crawling everywhere, side stepping, eating some baby food, and being vocal! It’s so crazy for me to think that I was pregnant this time last year and now Baby L is 9 months old!

She just started to take to baby food. I started giving it to her a few months ago because seemed interested in our food. I knew it was more because it was something new rather than her needing the food. She didn’t like it at all! She would gag and throw up every time. That told me that she wasn’t ready so I stopped giving it to her. Then she started showing more and more interest on food so I bought some puffs for her. She loved those! She will eat those up if you let her. Breastmilk is still her primary food so this is just fun extra stuff.

She is crawling and climbing up on everything! I definitely think she will be walking by the time she is 1!
We are still co-sleeping and baby wearing. I so wish she would sleep through the night only because I’m so tired. When she wakes up she is nursing rather than nursing just for comfort. I know she will get there.

She is a happy and healthy baby! She smiles and laughs and is so playful! She definitely brightens my dark days. Can’t wait to see what else she starts to learn in the next month!

She has her 9 month appointment this afternoon and I’m sure that will go just fine!

Weigh in update #4

Technically I lost weight this past week but it was only about .5 pounds. Yes it’s better than gaining but I can’t expect to loose weight every week. And I’m OK with that….at least for right now.

I haven’t been doing my workouts for a few reasons but I am starting back up on Monday. Ad sore as I was for days after I completed day 1, it was definitely worth it!

Decided to take a few pictures today. Mister says you can tell in my face but I can also tell that I’ve lost in my abdomen area. Shirts and pants aren’t so tight anymore plus my underwear is getting baggy.
Anyway, here are two pictures I took right before I started typing up this post.

I’ll take more pictures in about a month!

Until next week 🙂

Mommie update!

And now for an update on me, the Mommie!

I have been doing well! I have not experienced any postpartum depression this time, thank God! I don’t know if I have been too busy to notice it or what, haha! Just glad that I haven’t had to deal with that. Still breastfeeding and sorta co-sleeping.

I have started a journey to loose the baby weight. I am not dieting or cutting foods out in anyway, just watching how much I am eating. The only thing that I have reduced is the sweets. I haven’t been eating as much of those as I have been before.

But other than that, I am not sure what else to report about what’s been going on with me in the last 7ish months! I think that I won’t update again on me until Lily is 1 year old!

Lily update!

I know it has been like 2 months since I updated on her….I am not very good at this, haha!

Lily is a little over 7 months old now! I cannot believe that she is getting so big so fast! I don’t think that I have noticed time going by so quickly before. I mean it seems that as the older I get the years go by faster, but it just seems different this time. Maybe it’s because we are doing more things than we have ever done before. I don’t know, but I do know all you parents out there know what I am talking about!

Anyway, onto the baby!

Like I said Lily is 7 months old. She is crawling all over the place! Having to tell the older kiddos to make sure their things are off the floor is a daily (multiple times a day) task. She is pulling herself up on everything! She is gnawing on everything in sight! She has been doing that for a few months now but no teeth have popped through…yet! She is taking an interest in food. I have been giving her sweet potatoes (homemade not jarred) but she is having a hard time with those. I don’t want to give her too much too soon. I give her the smallest bite and she always seems to gag on it. I just think that it’s so different that she is having a hard time. I will keep giving it to her though and hopefully can get some ‘real’ food in her! I was told by her ped that it’s no biggie right now if she doesn’t eat it. She is still nursing which I am SUPER happy about! She is however sleeping in her own bed but it’s right next to my side of the bed. Well, for the most part she is sleeping in her own bed. Sometime during the night (I am not sure when) she must wake up and I put her in bed with me to nurse her & then I wake up in the morning and she’s next to me. Which I am not complaining about, I absolutely love it! I am still wearing her too! I love that! I so wish that I would have been doing this with my 4 other kiddos!!! She is smiling, giggling, and talking up a storm! I am loving the interaction that she is getting into!

Let me see how much I can remember from her 6 month appointment 😉
All of her measurements are average. I am happy about that & glad that my body is doing what it should be! She had her shots and didn’t have any problems with that. He said that I can start her on baby food but not to worry if she doesn’t take off with it, which she hasn’t. He said that she should be an excellent sitter upper by 9 months but he didn’t think she would wait that long….and she didn’t. We talked about some other things but I don’t remember, ha! She will be going back for her 9 month appointment in March.

We also went to the dentist this same day as her dr appointment. I wasn’t sure how she would do, but she did awesome! They don’t really do much at this age (from what I have seen) but he said that she looks good! I did bring up one concern that I had with something that I had been feeling in her mouth. Keep in mind that she has no teeth right now. She has had this bump behind her bottom gums for months. I had no idea what it was, how it got there, or why it was there. The dentist felt it and said that it was a tooth bud. I have never heard of that before or had any other of my kiddos have this. He said that it would move it’s way forward and then her teeth would come in. Still nothing and the bump is still there. She goes back in March and we will see if it’s still there.

I am hoping that I covered everything that has been going on. If not, I will add it to her 8 month update! Now I am hoping that I can remember to make the update, haha!

I have an idea for her monthly pictures, so I will try to get that posted this weekend!

See ya next month 🙂

Happy 3, 4, & 5 Months!

I am so behind on updating on Lily! This post won’t have any pictures just because I can’t get her 5 month picture off my phone yet, so I will just make a separate post with her pictures.

She is getting so big way too fast! I so wish that we could slow down time!

She is rolling back to belly & belly to back. Still nursing like a champ. Still baby wearing. Still co-sleeping. Still cloth diapering. She rubs her eyes when she is tired and I think it’s the cutest thing ever! Over the last week or so she has started teething and she is definitely letting you know! We have given her some Tylenol. I froze my teething bling necklace but she didn’t like that at all! But I will keep trying that with her incase she starts to like it later down the road.

This past Thursday (11/08/12) it really hit her. She slept all day long except to nurse. She was only awake & interacting with us for about 90 minutes total that day. I let her sleep and didn’t mess with what her body was telling her that she needed. The next day she was almost back to normal & today she is even better!
I don’t feel any teeth poking through but she does have a bump behind her gums and I can tell that it’s moving forward. You can now feel that bump through her chin. She is drooling and putting everything in your mouth and biting down on everything!
Lily teething isn’t that bad but compared to the other 4 kiddos, she is the worst\hardest. She is so uncomfortable and miserable. Hopefully the teeth\tooth will pop through soon and stop bothering her.

She is wanting to sit up on her own all the time. She has done it a few times but always falls over in the end, haha! We are thinking about getting her a bumbo for Christmas. She reaches for people now when she sees them……makes my heart smile when she reaches for me and her Papa! She talks all the time! I have no idea what she is saying but it’s so cute! She moves around in her walker all the time! Which is a good thing because you can tell she wants to get down and get somewhere but just doesn’t know how! She isn’t a complete fan of tummy time but she is doing it more often. She turns while on her belly but hasn’t started scooting anywhere or crawling.

We have not started her on any foods and aren’t planning to just yet. When we do, I will be trying to do homemade food. I have never made my own baby food so I have no idea how time consuming this is or anything like that. But I would like to at least try and make the effort.

She has her first dentist appointment next month & her 6 month check up also. I will definitely update after those two appointments. And I think they are on the same day!

Anyway, that’s it for now & I will get a post up with her 3, 4, & 5 month pictures as soon as I can get them off my phone. Thanks for reading 🙂

6 month med check-up

This is just an update that I thought I would share of how my two oldest are doing on their medication. If you didn’t read my first post about them starting these meds, please check it out!

They just had their 6 month dr appt this past week. They are growing perfectly & the dr isn’t concerned about that. The appt was short, sweet, and to the point. There really isn’t much to report from the dr appt, but here is how it is at home and what we have noticed from them being on their meds.

Since they have started their medication it has been so much nicer around here! Don’t get me wrong, we still have those episodes and fits, but they are nothing like they were before the meds.

M’s issues in school are much better! He is still having some outbursts, so we have decided to up his dosage to 15mg. D never had an issue in school, so there is nothing to update about him with that.

They are both much more enjoyable now. You can talk to them now instead of having a yelling match. There is no more screaming coming from D, no more banging on the wall or hurting himself.

As they get older, we will work with them and teach them how to deal with what is going on with them & wean them off their meds. Now was not the time to try any of this. Believe when I say it wouldn’t have been worth it. For right now, putting them both on meds was the best choice & solution. Since we can actually talk to them now when they are upset, makes it easier to teach them and help them work through their anger. We don’t want them on meds their entire life, so while they are under our roof, we will work on this with them. Once they are old enough and move out, they can choose to be on meds or not.

Anyway, went too far into the future, haha!

To sum it up, they are doing really well and the household is much more enjoyable. The boys are happier too & you can tell that they are thriving from being on the meds.

If you would like to read more about what they are on (Focalin) or what they have (ODD & ADHD) please click the links.

1 month PP

I cannot believe that our Lily is already a month old!
Well technically as I am typing this up she is already 5 weeks and some days, but who’s counting 😉

Lily-
She is growing like crazy! On the 25th of June she weighed 8lbs 1 oz. When we went to our WIC appointment she weighed 9lbs 6oz!!!! I would say that she is doing great! I wasn’t expecting that much of a weight gain! She is still waking up between 2-3 times a night. She is sleeping more during the day (growth spurt!? I know her 6 week growth spurt is coming up). Not neccissarly longer naps but just more naps throughout the day. Her head control is getting much better! Her facial expressions are too funny! We love to watch her make all those faces 🙂
We can get her to smile more often. Trying to capture a picture of those smiles….well that’s another thing! I always seems to get the very end. Apparently I need to work on my skills 😉
Her siblings are all willing to help out. Most of the time they are coming to me wanting to hold her, carry her, change her diaper, change her clothes….anything! I was surprised about that! I am very thankful that they all love thei sister so much and are wanting to help her (and me!) out so much!
I did notice the other day that her newborn clothes seemed alittle small on her now. NO!!!!!! That can’t be happening already, can it!? She needs to slow her roll alittle bit!
I was rocking her to sleep last night and it’s the first time that I noticed she seemed bigger and heavier. She is getting rolls and everything. Ahhh, our little lady is growing so fast!
I am going to take a picture every month now (on the 7th) of her. I cannot wait to see all the changes that we will be able to see when she is 1 year old! I will post that once I get it on the computer.

Mommie-
I am doing just fine. I had to reschedule my 6 week appointment that was supposed to happen on Thursday. And the soonest they could get me in in 08/15! My dr is popular apparently! It’s fine though…I have no concerns or questions about anything that is going on. If something comes up between now and then I will just call the office.
This time last year I was around 250lbs. The day I gave birth to Lily I was 232-ish. On 07/09/12 I was 208! I have never been this small. I am super excited to start working out & getting in shape. This is a huge jump start to my goal of having a 1 as the first number of my weight…not a 2. I don’t have a plan on what to do for a workout but I know that I will start slow. I belong to a great group on FB of Mommies that are wanting to loose weight and be a support to each other!

I will no longer be doing weekly updates….from now on it will be monthly. Thank you for reading 🙂
See ya around the 7th!
