So many things for some many people. I love warm weather! It just makes me so happy & I love having doors/windows open when cleaning.

I had asked on MV fanpage what warm weather meant to yall & this is what some people said:
Picnics, swings, outdoor fun, ice cream, parks, shorts, flip flops!!!

I am sure that everyone can relate to all of these things & so much more!

Texas has been teasing us with some great weather this past week! From the looks of what the weather man said, we should be in the warmer weather all this next week. Yay! We had some cold days mixed in and I am ready for those to go away & stay away until later this year.

The kiddos burn off so much energy when it’s nice outside. I get more done around the house. Warm weather brings me so much motivation! Cold weather is such a drab.

Hope the warm is here to stay and that y’all will have too, wherever you live!

Weigh in #6

I’m still not really eating meals but that mostly has to do with the fact that I’m busy and just grabbing something. Dinner still seems to be my biggest meal. Again, I’m not eating junk food or crap food, just mostly snacking.

The past two mornings I had forgotten to get on the scale first thing in the morning, so I hadn’t had a chance to weigh myself until this morning. I was nervous about what number would show up…either the same number or a higher number. Almost didn’t even check because I most certainly didn’t want to see s higher number than the previous week!

So what red numbers flashed at me this time?!
217!!!!
That means I lost about 3ish pounds since last week?! Not sure how that happened but I’ll definitely take it!

I think that’s definitely the motivation I needed to see to get back on track! I will remember this number and do better than the week before so next week I can see a lower number!

Also wanted to add something. Was going to make this a seperate post but figured I would just keep the good news all rolled into one great post!

Remember a few weeks back when I posted about those jeans? ( big girl pants)
Yesterday my son had a school program and I just didn’t want to wear my black elastic pants that have become my ‘everyday’ look. I wanted something different. I wanted something that didn’t scream fat chick. So I decided to get those jeans back out and pray the bigger size fit. So I pulled the size 20 jeans from the shelf and put em on. They fit so much better than when I made that post! I was so excited! Couldn’t wait to see Mister so I could show him. I was actually hoping that he would notice before I said something about it. He actually did! I didn’t say or point anything out. Was shocked!

Needless to say I am super happy about he results I’ve gotten this week! Both things are just the motivation IĀ  needed to get my butt back in gear!
Spring/summer is coming and I want to not only look good but feel good!

Thought I would include a picture of me wearing the jeans last night.

Hard to see as I wasn’t taking this picture for the jeans but you can still see that I’m not wearing black pants!!

Until next week!

*Disclaimer: I just want to let people know that me calling myself the fat chick is something that doesn’t offend me. These are my words and I don’t want anyone bent outta shape because I was those words to describe myself. Both words are true: I’m fat & I’m a chick. Working on the fat part so that I’m just chick. Afternoon school goodness

Monday was so nice here in Northwest Texas! I had windows & doors open! I love having the fresh air blowing through my house. I love spring weather!

The kiddos came home from school this day & I wanted to do something fun with them for their snack.

I took out every. single. topping that was in the baking cabinet. We had sprinkles, marshmallows, chocolate topping, cookies, chocolate chips, cones, ice cream (duh), and I think that’s it! The kiddos were so excited to do this! They were able to put any toppings on their ice cream. I loved doing this with them & will definitely be doing things like this more often.
I will be going back to my Pinterest page to get more ideas that I have pinned. Gotta love Pinterest!

Here are some pictures:

Homemade vanilla wafers

I just went to get the links for where I copied these recipes from (sorry to theĀ originalĀ posters!) but these aren’t my recipes at all!

The first one that I made was the vanillaĀ wafers. These are super easy! And you can make them as big/little as you want. To be honest with you, they taste just like sugar cookies to me. I am not sure what the difference is between the two after tasting them.

I made them little for a few reasons: #1 they are perfect size for the kiddos. #2 they are perfect snacking size for adults! You can eat more and not be eating as much. Does that make sense?

Here is the recipe:

5 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
2 cups unbleached cake flour or all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl. Add the egg, vanilla, and milk and mix well. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir well.

Spoon the dough into a gallon-sized freezer bag. This is a bitĀ easierĀ if the corner of the bag to be filled up is resting inside a large wide-mouthed glass. Cut off the tip of one of the corners and pipe the dough onto ungreased cookie sheets at least one inch apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until the bottoms begin to turn golden brown. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Serve or store in an airtight container.

Yield: 4 dozen cookies
Prep-time: 15 minutes
Bake-time: 15 minutes

Here are some pictures from the ones that I made:

Theses are yummy, easy, & I ended up making some mini ice cream sandwiches!

I rolled them all the sprinkles that I had in the baking cabinet. The kiddos loved them!

One thing that I learned & will do definitely with the sandwiches is that I will freeze the tray I put them on & do smaller batches. The ice cream started melting before I could get the sandwiches made fast enough! Lesson learned!

This was so fun to do & the kiddos loved it. Plus you can make so many at one time that this isn’t something that you would have to make every other day. Making them different colors is fun too! Plus it’s getting me ready for Spring!

End of a season

Well I wouldn’t say end…more like a pause.

2Ā out of 4 of our children are playing spring soccer right now. Their last game is next Saturday. I am sad for them that the season is ending but oh so glad because that means that I don’t have to sit out in 100* weather for 2 hours out of the day. Oh and I will be able to actually sleep in on Saturdays now too!
Our 6 year old will actually start soccer camp the first week of June. I really hope he enjoys that!
All 4 are wanting to play in the fall, so Saturdays will be extra busy then!

Another pause to a season is coming for me. I have been workingĀ in the 2 year oldĀ room at our church every Sunday for the past few months. I have really been enjoying it..both the kids & the lead teacher. I have told the director that this Sunday (tomorrow) will be my last day until August when school starts up again. As much as I am enjoying it..I end up hurting so much afterwards. I am not wanting to go into labor early because I don’t know when to say ‘when’. Much rather be safe than sorry.

So those are things that are ending over the next 2 weeks. And school will be following very shortly!
Hope that you all are having a great weekend! šŸ™‚
