Sidekick update

Well it’s been a week since I had my genius idea and I’d say it’s working out pretty good! Last week was easier than this current week simply because we didn’t have anywhere to be. I’m glad that I’m having to figure out how to get what I need done while it’s still summer though. Good practice!

I highlight what I get accomplished from my list. Last week was bright yellow!

This week….I have a few yellow dots.

Again, I’m learning to be ok with that. I just try and move whatever I didn’t accomplish to the next day. Laundry is something that I’m trying to get done no matter what else is going on that day. I do 2 loads a day, 6 days a week, so laundry is definitely something that I cannot get behind on! Has long has its been washed and dried then I’m ok with that. My goal is to actually have it put away and then I mark it has being finished.

Anyway, this post isn’t about laundry!

I’m really liking that everything is all there. I don’t have a notebook for a shopping list, chores, phone calls, and whatever else. It’s all in one and makes toting it around much easier. I’ve already started writing down ideas for what my next sidekick will contain. I will start putting it together in December to get ready for the new year and so that it will coincide with my 2016 planner.

Overall it’s working out great! I’m glad that the idea came to me and I didn’t push it aside. I go to bed feeling good about what was accomplished and, most, mornings I don’t wake up with all this weight on my shoulders filled with lists and to dos and all that jazz.

I’m excited and looking forward to continuing this new habit and putting together one for 2016! Cannot wait to update and show you!

Meal planning…long overdue update

Well, I think it’s been about a year (or close to) that I started posting about my meal planning routine. I don’t even remember what I talked about or what that routine was.

Since starting my MP sidekick and seeing that we weren’t planning our meals very well (again), I knew it was time to start putting effort into this again. The only thing I forgot to do was keep track of the budget. I’ll be sure to do that for he next time.

Since its summer time, I’m now having to include breakfasts and lunches into my planning. I like variety so I knew we couldn’t just have cereal or sandwiches all the time, boooooring! We do have these but it’s not on an every day basis.

I have 9 breakfast items and 5 lunch items that I just in rotation. There’s no reason that I need to become a Pinterest mom for these meals. They are fed and that’s all that matters.

Dinner is where I will try need recipes or something that we haven’t had in awhile. Dinner is where we are choosing to not do a rotation. Mister and I have decided that we don’t want to get burned out for these meals. For some reason breakfast and lunch doesn’t bother us, it’s just dinner where we don’t want the same thing over and over again.

I plan out meals two weeks in advance. I shop a week at a time and buy any produce we may need the day before we will use it. We waste too much money buying the produce before we need it and it ends up going bad and is having to buy it again. That’s frustrating and is dipping into our budget that we, honestly, cannot afford to keep doing. Now I just have to remember to make a habit out of checking for the produce items the day before.

Here is what my meal planning looks like:

First I feel the need to say that the meal doesn’t have to be on the date it’s written for. This used to be the way it had to be! I would get upset and start to panic a bit (sounds so silly when I say it out loud) when the meal wasn’t made on the date that it was written for. As much as it still drives me crazy, I don’t freak out about it if I have to move meals around.

The highlighted meals are the ones we’ve eaten. That’s just so I can keep track of the food and meals.

When I write out the shopping list, I just go meal by meal. If I need more than one of something, I try not to write it twice but instead do this: bread x4. That way when I go to the aisle this item is in, I don’t have to scan the whole list, I can just look to see how many I need.

So far this is working for me. Keep in mind I’ve only been doing this for a week. I really want to keep it up and make this out normal instead of trying new technic and new technic……ain’t nobody got time for that!

I figured I would update after a week and I think I’ll do another update after I’ve been doing this for a month. Next time though I will include the budget, if I can remember 😜

I think I’m a geniusΒ

*cough cough* Excuse me while I wipe away the dust that has settled on the blog! 😜

So it’s true, pretty sure I just became a genius this morning!

A grabbed a notebook from the stash we have and began to meal plan (it’s been months since I did that!) yesterday. This morning I wrote out the grocery list for those meals.

This is where the genius happened!

I was texting with my friend about a the MOPS exercise group that we want to start. I grabbed my MOPS notebook and started writing down our ideas and plans. Then I grabbed my notebook stated above and began to write out my week. Then I thought I should go ahead and plan out 2 weeks. Then I thought, no I should do all of June. No, I’ll just do all summer! Then I went ahead and wrote out, in 2 week chunks, our meal plans for the whole summer. I haven’t filled in the meals yet but I’ll get to that part.

I like cutesy, girly, glittery things. I was going to just use paper clips but that didn’t satisfy my want. I decided to use some duct tape that we have and use them as tabs. Again with the genius part!

I’m glad that I have 3 months of summer to use this and put it in place. Hopefully by the time next school year starts, it’ll be second nature and working great!

My monthly planner I use is my life! If I lost it, I would be lost….we are very close! It’s color coded for everything going on and who it involves. My MP sidekick is not color coded. I don’t color for this. My MP sidekick is just for me to put my to do list, laundry schedule, and anything going on that day. MP sidekick is where I can write more details without over-crowding my planner. These two planners will become best friends and never leave my side!

I hope and wish so badly that this new tool works. I’m planning everything two weeks out. So each week I’m planning but it’s far enough in advance that I’m not rushing or overwhelming myself. If it works then I plan on getting another notebook for next year that will go along with my planner again. I’ll have to write things out earlier any get my pages organized better at that time. But for now it’ll work and note the changes I need to make for next time.

I’m overly excited about this and couldn’t wait to share it with you! I’ve been thinking and praying about something that would help me with my time management (cause I’m horrible with it) and I hope this is the answer!

These are my meals planned out for two weeks.

My grocery list is only for one week. This way I’m not throwing money away because food went bad before I could use it.

This is my days planned out with more detail than my planner.

The friendship begins 😍

Meal planning – how’s it going?

Our family is into the second week of meal planning with a budget. Here is what I planned for our first week of meals.

I wanted to take the time to talk about how it went and if there was anything that I needed/wanted to change for the 2nd week.

Looking at two different ads and trying to figure out what meals, mostly dinner, I could make from the sale items wasn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be. It took much more time that I wanted it to and what I thought it would. That could also be because it was my first time doing it. Once we were all finished shopping at both stores & I added up how much was spent, I have to say that it was an adrenaline rush to find out if we were over or under. (Click the above link to find out!)

So did we stick the the plan!?
Yes, we did! There were a few days where what was on the menu was pushed back to the next day (a friend cooked us dinner one night. Such a blessing πŸ™‚ ) I think there are 3 days that ended up flowing into this week. That made week 2 much easier! (More to come on the 2nd week later)

I posted the menu on the fridge so that I could see it. If I didn’t see it in plain sight daily, I knew that I wouldn’t stick to the plan at all. What I wasn’t expecting is that my kiddos would ask what we were having for {insert breakfast, lunch, or dinner} and I would say something like “Let me look at the menu”. They then began to look themselves & tell me what we were having for that meal. It was mostly my 8 year old only because he was the only kiddo that was home that could read the words. They actually started to look forward to looking at the menu and telling me what was next.

The one thing that I know that I need to change is when I take out the meat. I was taking it out in the morning and letting it thaw all day in the fridge & then when time was closer to dinner I would take it out to thaw in cold water. That didn’t work so well. The meat wouldn’t thaw all the way and would mess up my timing and some nights, it messed up dinner completely. What I started doing over the weekend was to take the meat out the night before & put it in the fridge. That seemed to help more. Hopefully that’ll work out better and not mess up anymore dinner meals!

Another thing that I would like to change is the paper that I am using. There is nothing wrong with just using a piece of notebook paper to display meals. I just want to use pretty paper! It makes it more exciting for me & makes something so boring, something that I will look forward to doing. Which in the end, will make me keep wanting to do this instead of making it a have to. I went on my Pinterest board (Pretty Paper) to see if I had pinned anything pretty that I wanted to use. I didn’t. So I spent some time looking for something that caught my eye. I found a few that I want to use and probably just rotate out so that I don’t get bored.
Picture 261 weekly Capture

I found tons but I think that I am going to stick to these 3 unless I find more that I want to add to the mix. I am going to put the paper in a sheet cover so that I can write & wipe each week. Plus I don’t want to keep printing paper off….just one less thing that I want to remember to do.

Overall, it worked much better than I thought & I will keep doing this as long as I have so many mouths to feed πŸ˜‰

Oh! I also found this while looking for printables & think that I will try this too. Will just have to see how it would work for us & where to put it in our kitchen.

Do you meal plan? How do you display it? What is your process for something that can become so boring?
See ya around for meal planning week 2 πŸ™‚

Week 39, Baby #6

I do feel like I am carrying around a watermelon most days!
image
Exactly 1 week until this little is due! I cannot believe these last 20ish weeks have gone by so quickly!

Let’s recap week 38!

Lots of pressure and cramping going on this week. No bloody show yet either. At my last appointment, I was almost 3cm dilated. So I know that this discomfort is doing something productive! My next appointment won’t be until next Friday unless this little one comes before that. I really had a feeling that this baby would make his/her appearance this week. I know the week isn’t over yet but I am running out of days. I’m not worried about which day this baby decides to come on, I am more concerned about having a healthy baby & a successful vbac.
Something that I hadn’t thought of until Mister brought it up was will my labor feel any different from my other labors before having the csection. He brought it up because of having nerves & muscles cut. I have no idea if it will or not but it’s probably something that I should pay attention to. I think he brought it up because I have been having cramping on my sides that lead to cramping in my abdomen that are consistent for a little while but then stop….just like contractions. I am waiting for those contractions that make you stop and hunch over and make you focus on breathing…that’s a contraction to me. Though I do have to say that when I was in labor with Coleman (baby #4) my labor started with cramping under my belly area. I know that each labor is different no matter what but it is something to think about & pay attention to. Definitely not trying to have this baby in a car or anywhere like that!

I have been feeling more and more tired. It is very hard for me to get up in the mornings now. I am sleeping until almost 10am on some days. I don’t really like it because I feel like half my day is already gone by then.
I feel sick randomly throughout the day. Which makes it difficult to eat. I’ll get hungry, get something to eat, and then feel sick & cannot eat it.
I am also feeling irritated out of nowhere. Nothing happens to irritate me. I don’t want to be touched or talked to. This feeling usually only happens to me when I am labor. Mister thinks that I could be laboring at these moments but don’t even notice it.

I am pretty sure that I have everything ready for this baby. The only thing that we need to do is clean out the truck and then put the car seat in. We are planning on doing that before this weekend is over….just so stinking hot outside!
I would say that the only other thing that needs to be done is Mister fixing a corner of the little bed that we have & used for Lily. The corner broke on it. But that isn’t something that needs to be done ASAP since we will be co-sleeping with Baby W.
Other than that, everything is ready to go! Just need baby to fill out these clothes and diapers!

I have other things that I would like to get done around the house (still) before the baby comes but that’s pretty much a never ending story. After I finish one thing I find something else that I want to get done. Doing what I can until it’s go time. Not trying to over do anything but definitely wanting to get these things checked off my list…..I think that’s the perfectionist in me though.

Over all, who knows when this baby is going to come. All I know is it will be a July baby. This baby has a deadline and will come out sooner rather than later. It’s just fun to hear when everyone thinks Baby W will get here. We are all excited to meet him/her & find out whether we have a Landon or an Emma. It’s the anticipation that is getting to me at this point. I just cannot wait to hold this little one in my arms and smell that new baby smell!

Here Baby W and I am at 39 weeks exactly:

We shall see if I make a 40 week update or a Baby W update…..which will come first!?

Meal planning with a budget – how did I do?

Like I said previouslyΒ I have meal planned before but never stuck to or made any sort of budget to go along with it.
Things had to change since we were running out of our allotted food budget before the month was over. Not every month but I would say close to.
This month I decided to change that. I didn’t know how the first time would go since we have 7 mouths to feed on a small food budget. I had posted on Facebook asking friends what they did & if they had any tips/tricks. Very helpful tips from friends! I also went to my Pinterest boards to use what I pinned.

Were we live, stores don’t double coupons nor do they have deal days, or anything else along those lines. We don’t have every many grocery stores to choose from either. I knew coupons wouldn’t help nor would really be an option. So I needed to find different ways of saving money while feeding my family the best that I could.

I found this pin when I started looking through my budget board. With a heading like that, there was no way that I could pass up clicking on it & seeing if this would be helpful for me!
food budget
Some of her tips that she gave I was already going to do. One tip she said that once you do your weekly (or bi-weekly) grocery shopping, do NOT go back into the grocery store for anything until your next meal planning shopping trip. How does one do that!? What if you run out of eggs or sugar or milk or……
We are going to try & do this. We will see how well that goes. Since this is our first time doing this, I won’t beat ourselves up too much if we do go back before our next weekly shopping trip.

My mission was to plan 3 meals a day for 7 people with $225 per week. This seemed overwhelming and not possible.
When the new weekly ads came out for the 2 stores that we would be shopping at (United & Aldi), I sat down at the computer with a notebook & pen and started to make meals around what was on sale. I went back & forth on my browser windows looking for what I could get from both stores to make meals. My attention span was starting to loose it! I finished writing down our meals and then needed to take a break.

This is our week of meals:
Breakfast:
Monday- Oatmeal with chocolate chips/canned fruit/cinnamon & sugar/peanut butter/chocolate spread. Any of those they could use.
Tuesday- Cereal & toast/bagel
Wednesday- Pancakes & fruit (watermelon)
Thursday- Yogurt, fruit, & granola
Friday- Cereal & toast/bagel
Saturday- Biscuits & sausage gravy casserole
Sunday- Egg boats

Lunch:
Monday- Sandwiches (pb&j or lunch meat) & chips
Tuesday- Tuna & canned fruit
Wednesday- Mummy dogs & fries
Thursday- Grilled sandwiches & chips
Friday- Mac & cheese and peaches
Saturday- BLT
Sunday- Leftovers

Dinner:
Monday- Chicken drumsticks & fries
Tuesday- Ribs & fresh corn
Wednesday- Half pork loin & fresh asparagus
Thursday- Hamburgers & chips
Friday- Salmon, rice, & frozen veggies
Saturday- Leftovers
Sunday- There was no name for this meal, here is a picture
Dinner

As I was writing down the items from the ads, I also was writing down what the price was. Whether it was BOGO or 3/$5. Whatever the price was, I wanted to make sure to write it down so that when I got to the store, I knew exactly which sale price I was going off of. I also went to grab an ad at both stores but they were gone.

image

I then made a list of what was going to be purchased from each store with the price that was in the ad. I figured since this was my first time, I needed to be safe rather than sorry.
imageimageimage

Along with these lists (I am most definitely a list person!) I made a list that were staple items or items that we needed but weren’t for our meals. For example, our oldest son is going away to a camp for a week & he needed some food items to take with him. I didn’t want to include the price of that with out meal planning budget. I am hoping that we with this budget, that we will have money leftover for extras……ice cream, cupcakes for school, or making a meal if someone needs it….things like that. In order to keep track of of what was the total of meal planning & then the extras, I did 2 separate transactions at both stores. I figured that would be a lot easier than trying to go through the receipt & figuring out that myself. Less headache = happier Mommie πŸ™‚

Our first stop was United. We stuck to the list pretty well. We let the kiddos know ahead of time that we were going by a list & we didn’t hear any “Can I haves?” They all agreed. But who wants to start taking bets on who actually listened!?
As the guy was ringing up our items, I started to get nervous. Were we actually going to be able to stay within budget? If we went over, how much? Would it affect the rest of the month or could I make it work? I should also mention that I had to swap out 2 meats that were on sale. It would have cost much more to buy the amount needed for these meats than it was worth the savings.
Instead of getting ribs for $2.49/pound, we ended up going with a brisket at $3.08/pound.
We couldn’t find the salmon that was in the ad. It was $12.99/pound and we ended up going with Swai fillets (frozen, in a bag) for $7.99.

When he told us our total, I was shocked!
$141.10
I thought I did so well! How could I not?! I thought, “Wow, we are really under budget! I did way better than I thought I would.” Once I got back home that night, I realized that we still had to go to Aldi the next day. So my high was temporary…..bummer.

The next evening we went to Aldi. I knew we would spend less here but I wasn’t sure how it would come out for our budget. I didn’t do any math going into Aldi. Meaning I didn’t figure out how much we had left over in our budget to spend here. I wanted to just do it and do the math when we got home. Our damage at Aldi was $78.41.

Here is the math:
$141.10 – United, 44 items
$78.41 – Aldi, 49 items
$219.51 – Total, 93 items (budget was $225 per week)
Divided this by 21 (number of meals)
$10.45 per meal
Divided by 7 (number of people)
$1.49 per person, per meal

For the first time, I think that I did pretty well!
Some weeks will be better and some won’t be as great. That’s ok, it’s all a learning process.
What do you think? Can you give me tips for a better savings next time? Can you beat my savings? Tell me! I would love to hear how you do this with your family!

Meal planning with a budget

I have meal planned before. Mostly just dinners and with no budget. Just made a list of dinners that we would have for that week, make the shopping list, and then bought it. I used to meal plan breakfast & lunch but once my first two kiddos started school, I stopped.
Things have changed, I have 4 kiddos in school (with 2 year old & soon to be newborn at home). During the school year isn’t bad since 4/6 eat at school. Summer time & school vacations are a different story. Dinners aren’t effected but not planning breakfast & lunch just throw me a curve ball. And it’s not like I am surprised when they are home…I have the school schedule!

I have also never planned with a budget before. Like I said, just wrote out what we wanted and then bought it. Should it be no surprise when I tell you that we, usually, run out of our food budget each month before the month is over!? It shouldn’t!
We usually go to the store with a list. Rarely do we go without or hungry. (<—— bad idea by the way!)

This month I am changing that. This month I am going to be aware of our budget & use it.
We will sometimes have to sacrifice meals that want to have meals we can afford. I will have to take time out of my day each week to look up ads, look at what is on sale, and plan our meals around that.
Will it be a pain? Probably.
Will it be worth it? Definitely.

We have a small budget to work with & it needs to feed 7 people, 3 meals a day + some snacks & a few desserts.

I will be updating how things are going, what I am doing, and some recipes if anyone is interested. I’ll give as much detail as I can.
I was already to start meal planning today but the 2 stores that we are going to do our shopping at, their new weekly ads don’t come out until tomorrow. So I will sit down with my pen & paper tomorrow for dinners. I have made my weekly list for lunch & breakfast.

I will be posting things & hopefully I can share something useful to you & you can share the same with me. This is a first & I am sure that I will mess up. But at least I’m learning!

Any tricks/tips or recipes that you have would be awesome!

36 & 37 weeks, Baby #6

Β

Since I am turning 37 weeks tomorrow (What?!) I figured I would just combine the two weeks. I was supposed to have an appointment last but life got in the way (anyone else know what I’m talking about!?) and so I had to reschedule my appointment for Monday. Plus I had an appointment scheduled for Friday but since I was in Monday, my dr just said to cancel that one & she’ll just see me next week. Sounds good to me!

For the past 2 weeks I have been feeling lots of pressure and cramping in my lower back & on the under side of my belly. Sunday was the day that this happened the most. Mister kept asking me if I was ok. He’s getting on his toes about all this too! Nothing to the point that I feel the need to call my dr or go to labor & delivery but can definitely tell my body is getting ready to have this baby. I’ve been drinking my water still but it never seems to be enough (I’ll explain when I talk about my appointment). The belly is definitely getting the way of doing things. Sometimes I have to hold my breath to tie my shoes, haha! Getting up off the floor is a challenge all in itself. Oh to be a fly on the wall to watch me sometimes…I am sure that I would be laughing at myself most of the time! Something that I keep forgetting to say is that I have noticed no new stretch marks! Which totally awesome to me since I always seem to get new ones with each baby. I am definitely waddling when I walk. I am sitting here trying to think of anything else that I need to update on but I don’t think so…or at least I can’t remember πŸ˜‰
So onto the dr appointment update!

I will have to show this to jess, i pick on her all the time because she "waddles" i ask her if she has any grapes lol

My appointment was Monday afternoon. These last few appointments that I have, I always get excited about them. I love to see what my body is doing and how it’s progressing this far along. According to the scale, I have lost a pound since last week. I was not expecting that since #1, it was an afternoon appointment & #2, the amount of food I have been shoving in my face. I asked my nurse what my total weight gain had been up until now, which isn’t all that accurate since I didn’t start going to the dr until I was 24 weeks but I can’t imagine that I have gained too much since I didn’t look pregnant until even after I found out. Anyway, she said that as of Monday, I have only gained a total of 15 pounds! I was not expecting that number at all! I am pretty proud of myself for that. I know that I usually gain more than that.
I was hoping that she would check me since I told her that I was having a lot of pressure but she didn’t, hopefully next week I will get checked. When she was measuring my belly she doubled checked that I had always been measuring a week bigger than what I actually am &, yes, I have. So still on that track. No my due date hasn’t changed. She was checking the heart rate of the baby & started to get a bit concerned. She checked my heart rate and said that mine was a bit fast. Usually the baby’s heart rate is in the 140s-150s and it was only registering at 110-117 she said. She wanted me to get an ultrasound done to make sure that everything was ok with the baby. Baby is very active and always moving. Better to be safe than sorry. Once I was able to get squeezed into the ultrasound room, everything checked out just fine. The baby’s heart rate was back up to it’s normal. We got a few more pictures again! Mostly a squished face but we also got a picture of the baby’s hair! Thought that was so cool because I have never seen hair on an ultrasound before. I would scan these pictures but I cannot get the printer installed onto our computer for whatever reason. Mister is still looking into that.

Anyway, that’s it for right now.
Oh! If you would like to join in on the fun & make a prediction on when I will have this baby and then gender, please click here! We are getting close to some of these dates! I am excited to see who gets the closest!!! Today is actually the day of one of the guesses…..we will see!!!

Taken at 36 weeks and 4 days!

See you next week πŸ™‚

35 weeks, Baby #6

I turned 35 weeks yesterday so let’s recap 34 weeks.

I can’t say that anything exciting happened. I am starting to feel like my belly cannot stretch any more & I have no more room to breathe by the end of the day. Baby W is moving around like crazy and, I am sure, running out of space!
Nothing has changed in the eating department. There aren’t any foods that I am getting sick off of or smells. I can’t really eat what would be a normal size meal for me. I am drinking water like crazy but still having some DP every now and then. It’s just too good to give up πŸ˜‰
Still walking but not as often. My lower body starts to hurt after awhile and I don’t want to over do it at all.
I have been nesting recently. I am pacing myself but that’s just because my body won’t allow me to get as much done as I would like. I am just glad that I am able to still get things done. Slowly but they are getting done.
This happened at least 2/3 weeks ago but I keep forgetting to mention it. Lily (our 2 year old) when asked if Mommie was having a baby would always say ‘no’. She would put her hand on my belly or point to it and say no. Now she points to my belly and says ‘baby’! Yay! She may not fully understand what is going to happen within the next month but she knows what a baby is & she knows there’s one in my belly. Glad she is not in denial anymore πŸ˜‰

On Wednesday, the kiddos & I went to the library for a snake show. Once we got back home, I sat for awhile so that I could rest & didn’t get up until I needed to make dinner. Baby was moving during this time but nothing felt out of the ordinary. I stood up to walk into the kitchen & noticed that my belly looked different. I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me at first but it looked like my belly had dropped. Once Mister got home I told him about it & he said it didn’t look like my belly was out there like it had been. I figured if he could tell a difference then I was going completely crazy!

Thursday morning I woke up about 3:30 am to horrible heartburn again. Finally about 4 something it went away. Was ready to crawl back into bed but then had the feeling I needed to go to the bathroom. As I was sitting there, I had that feeling in my stomach that I was going to get sick. The feeling was getting stronger so I figured that I needed to change my positions. Sure enough, I threw up. Yuck! I don’t know what made me sick. Mister thinks that it was my heartburn but it was gone by the time I got sick. So who knows. Went back to bed, sitting up, and didn’t get much sleep after that. When I did get up, I felt so crappy. I was nauseous and felt like I was in my first trimester. Food smelled gross to me & I was getting waves of nausea all day. By evening time I felt so much better, just tired. Thankful for the bestie taking the kiddos to the park for awhile that afternoon. Also thankful for the other bestie on bringing dinner over so it was one less thing for me to worry about.
Sidenote, I had seen her Wednesday afternoon so before she stopped by with dinner, I told her she would have to tell me if my belly looked different. I opened the door & she immediately said that it looked like it dropped. Again, must be going crazy if two people see a difference!

I have all 6 kiddos bags are packed & ready for go time! I just need to work on mine and we’ll be all set! Hopefully I’ll get that done before my next update πŸ˜‰

image

My drs appointment was this morning so I will share what happened!

I had my ultrasound first, so I’ll start there.
Baby W is head down! I was so relieved in see that head down! I don’t have to worry about a csection this time!!! Thank you baby!
Everything is looking just fine with the baby. Baby is weighing about 6lbs 2oz right now & she expects the baby to weigh 8 something when he/she is born. It’s head & femur are measuring 2 weeks ahead, 37 weeks 1 day. But the average of all the numbers is measuring 36 weeks. So nothing to be concerned about there. Baby did not want to move to get good measurements or good pictures. So the tech had me empty my bladder & then used a buzzer to try and wake him up. Boy, did that baby jump! That was so funny & weird feeling. Baby still didn’t move too much after that though. Oh well. When she first took the heart rate it was at 124. After the buzzer it was 145. Healthy baby all around & nothing to be concerned about. We could tell/see some chubby cheeks on this baby! I’ve never seen chubby cheeks on any of my babies on an ultrasound. I thought that was too cute!

I only gained a pound in the last two weeks, which the nurse was happy about. I asked her how much I’ve gained so far but I forgot about it once we got in the room. Blood pressure was good. I had my Group B strep test. I also had a vaginal check. I am measuring 1 centimeter dilated but baby is still high. My dr is going out of the country next week & told me not to go into labor then πŸ˜‰ Still on track to have a vbac which makes me so happy that I cannot even express! Had to get some routine labs done.
From here on out, if I go into labor they won’t try and stop it but the baby will be considered a preemie until 37 weeks. Though I don’t want to go into labor early, I’m glad to know that they are confident that baby will be fine from here on out.

That’s my update for this week. Next week I’ll recap after my appointment since I’m going weekly now, crazy! See you at 36 weeks πŸ™‚

Surprise lunch!

I had a surprise yesterday……a very nice surprise πŸ™‚

One of my very good/best friends asked which day would work for me to have lunch with her, told her, and we made plans. She told me that I had to wear a dress and so did Lily. I woke up to a morning text from her telling me it was my day.

I figured we were going to her house and having lunch there. I didn’t think/expect/suspect anything else was going on but lunch with her. She picked Lily and I up yesterday morning before 11 and quickly realized that we weren’t going in the direction of her house. Well ok, maybe she wanted to eat out, no biggie to me! We pulled into a parking lot of a little strip mall here where we live and figured out where we were eating. Only been to this restaurant a few times but I know they have yummy Italian food! I also noticed another best friends car in the parking lot along with her moms car but honestly figured they were getting their nails done together.
As we walked into the restaurant I heard a familiar voice say “Hi Lily!” I thought “What a coincidence that they are here too”. Then I saw another friends face come from the table and thought, ok something is up. Turned the corner where the table was (it’s in a little nook area) I saw that there were balloons tied to a chair a presents on the table! I felt so loved by my friends that were there! I wasn’t expecting anything at all from anyone! Then while we were sitting at the table another friend pops her head around the corner and joined us!

How awesome that 5 friends took time out of their day to spend it with me and have a nice lunch & celebrate Baby W!? I know that this may be something that happens to those of you reading this but it doesn’t happen to me. It’s the little things that I cherish much more than the big things. (Even though I take nothing for granted and am very thankful for things that have happened to us & came our way)

We talked, ate lunch, had cake, and opened presents. I wish that our time together could have been longer but I know that schedules & appointments don’t stop for pretty much anything! So thankful for the time that I was able to spend with them and missed the ones that couldn’t make it. Time with great friends are priceless!

Here are pictures from a great lunch with great friends! Enjoy πŸ™‚
(We did forget to take a group picture & a few others)
