Being thankful is not the easiest thing in the world to do. And when things are going well in your life you tend to skip this part because things are going well.
We need to remember to be thankful to God for everything in our lives…good and bad. As we have seen with all the recent tornadoes going on-your life can be turned upside down in a second! Anything and everything you have can be taken away with no warning. Even if you have nothing (things)-you still have your life. And if you still have your life then you have SO much to be thankful for! Things can be replaced. If may not be the same exact thing you had before but you can always find something similar. ‘Things’ are great though. ‘Things’ are helpful and can help improve out lives but they aren’t to be worshipped.
Being thankful is always having a positive attitude. There will be times (or many) in your life when things aren’t looking so great. There will be moments when it looks like nothing is going right and you will wonder if you should give up or go on. GO ON! Always go on! There is light at the end of your dark tunnel. I truly believe with every fiber of my being that God will never give you more than you can handle. Although I know it feels like He gives us more at times. But He knows what He is doing even if you don’t. When something isn’t going right or you are having a hard time with something-stop, pray, and thankful for the things that are going right in your life. Even if it’s the smallest thing like sunshine.
You should (I believe) be thankful for the things that go wrong in your life. I know-you are probably thinking I am crazy right now…and you may be right! But if you aren’t thankful for the bad times then how can you be thankful for the good!? If you don’t go through the hard & dark times-you wouldn’t become stronger and grow. You may not know why you are going through this hard time, and that’s ok, but be thankful you are. And going through hard times isn’t always for us. It can also be to tell your story to someone else to give them hope and faith. Give them the boost they need to carry on.
Everything happens for a reason & nothing will stay the same forever. Whatever darkness you are going through right now will pass! It may seem like it’s easy for me to sit behind this computer screen and say that but my family is going through a rough time right now too. I am looking towards God and being thankful for everything that he has given us and even taken away! I know that God will get us out of this hard time and I know He will get you out of yours. You have to believe and speak what you want. It may not always come when we want it to-but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Keep your faith. Keep your head up. And most importantly keep thanking God everyday that he gives you.
