Daddy A Go Go a.k.a. John Boydston is definitely a rocking dad! He cranks out the tunes in ‘GrandKid Rock’! If you have a rocker kid, they will LOVE this CD!
These are just a few words that I am using to describe GrandKid Rock! Everyone in your house will be dancing along to these songs! You, the parent, might want to throw this CD out the window after awhile because your kids will NOT stop listening to this! There is a song on this CD that just came on that is ‘old school’ and it was one of those moments when you say, “I love this song!’ Do any of you remember the song ‘Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah’? Well maybe you don’t be the title, but I know that I can’t be the only one out there that knows this song! Daddy A Go Go also does a jammed up version of ‘What a Wonderful World’ and I absolutely love that song and his version of it!
This is not Daddy A Go Gos first CD though, on no! He has jammed out 6 (not including this one) CD + a ‘The Best of’ album! I would love to get my hands on his other CDs! Daddy A Go Go has received rave reviews by People Magazine, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, and many more! As a former CNN producer, now turned Stay At Home Dad, has been jammin’ out his music since 1998!
The keywords for this are: Rock and Roll for Kids and families, rock in the morning, rock for breakfast, lunch, dinner, rock before bed, and while you sleep, (but mainly when you are awake.)
Daddy A Go Go is the brainchild of John Boydston, who writes, records, (mostly) plays and produces the music you hear on a Daddy a Go Go CD. He was born in Oklahoma, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma Masters in Journalism, and is still known to shout “Go Sooners,” sometimes at completely inappropriate moments. He spent ten years working as a TV News producer, making stops at CNN and WSVN-TV along the way, before leaving the biz in the early ’90s to become a stay-at-home dad.
The idea behind Daddy a Go Go grew out of the joys and tribulations of hands-on parenting, and the realization that ‘KIDS LIKE ROCK MUSIC’ and synthesized techno-schlock wasn’t cutting it in our house. So, with a guitar, 3 chords, one microphone, an old beat-up set of Slingerland drums, and a little multi-track recorder, the notion of Family-Friendly Rock and Roll Daddy a Go Go-style began to gradually take shape. Now — many guitars, several better microphones, even more guitars, the same old set of Slingerlands with new sticks, the same three chords plus a couple more, and then some more guitars, and several CDs later, we’re finally rocking, baby! John lives with his family in Atlanta, Ga — wife Cory, and sons Jake (17) and Max (14) who are pictured below.
