Operation Gratitude

If you are like me and most Americans out there, you will do anything to help support our troops….no matter what that means to you (sending a box, donating money and/or time, spreading the word-the list goes on and on. I came across an organization a few months ago and emailed them asking if I could spread the word about them & maybe my post will end up helping our troops!

Operation Gratitude seeks to lift morale and put smiles on faces by sending care packages addressed to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed in harm’s way.** Operation Gratitude care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support. **Care Package for Wounded Program: We work with representatives at Military hospitals (Landstuhl, Walter Reed and Bethesda) to provide care packages to Wounded Warriors/Veterans undergoing long-term  rehabilitation.  Recognizing that Warriors when first injured are most concerned with the well-being of their comrades still on the frontlines, we also offer a service whereby we send care packages to the wounded’s buddies.  Not only does this let the troops know their wounded comrade is thinking about them, but most importantly, it helps the wounded feel they are still contributing to the mission and have not abandoned their comrades.

It warms my heart in a way that I cannot explain when I see people rooting and backing up our soldiers! You don’t have to agree with why our troops are over there, but to see people support them no matter what, just makes my heart smile!
I am a daughter of a man who severed most of his life in the military and I have a lot of friends that are military wives & some that just come from military families. I may never know what it is like to have my Dad, brother, or husband over there fighting, but I do know what it is like to have someone I love and care about go over there. I know that it’s different when you are actually going through it-so if you have and/or are going through this….you are not only! There are so many people out there that love you (even if they have never met you) and support what you and your husband (or wife) are putting on the line!

If it wasn’t for organizations like Operation Gratitude & the people that donate time & money to them, our soldiers may never get pieces of home.  If you would like more information on Operation Gratitude and how you can help, please visit their website!
